September 19th, 2025
On July 23rd, 2023, officers on patrol observed a vehicle being operated with licence plates registered to a different vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver failed to stop, driving at a high rate of speed. As a result, officers terminated the traffic stop. Officers were able to identify the driver who had been residing at a local motel, and amongst the suspects property, officers located a handgun and a substance that later proved to be fentanyl. A warrant was issued and on September 19th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service was notified that the 48-year-old suspect was in custody with another service on separate charges. The accused was arrested and charged with:
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Flight from peace officer
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon
Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
They were held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
September 21st, 2025
On September 21st, 2025, officer received information of a person in custody breaching their Non-Communication Order by contacting the victim of the domestic incident. On October 2nd, 2025, the 48-year-old person from Joyceville was issued a summons and charged with Failure to comply with an order.
September 22nd, 2025
On September 22nd, 2025, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for an assault. The victim sustained injuries including contusions, cuts and a clump of hair pulled from their head. The suspect fled when the victim dialed 9-1-1, and a warrant was issued for the suspect. On September 29th, 2025, the 53-year-old person from Kingston was located and arrested by Kingston Police and turned over the Gananoque Police. They were charged with Assault and held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
September 23rd, 2025
On August 7th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a fraud of a local business. The investigation revealed that a person had worked briefly at the business had altered a cheque issued in their name and defrauded the business out of approximately $2700 dollars. On September 23rd, 2025, the 43-year-old person from Brockville was arrested and charged with Fraud under $5000 and Utter forged document. The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions.
September 25th, 2025
On August 4th, 2025, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, and issued a 48-hour report for the driver failing to surrender their insurance. The driver failed to provide their insurance in the allotted 48-hour time limit. As a result, the officer issued a Part III Provincial Court Summons for operating a motor vehicle with no insurance. On September 25th, 2025, the officer received an email from the driver containing a copy of their insurance. That document was confirmed to be forged and the 39-year-old driver from Gananoque was charged criminally with Forgery and Use, deals, acts on forged document. They were released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.
September 26th, 2025
On September 26th, 2025, officers responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred. Officers found the victim with visible injuries, and the suspect was located in a nearby residence. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old person from Tyendinaga was arrested and charged with Assault and Failure to comply with release order. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
October 2nd, 2025
On October 2nd, 2025, officers responded to an assault, and upon arrival, officers observed a staff member with visible injuries. A 12-year-old youth from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault, Failure to comply with release order, Failure to comply with undertaking x4, and Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
October 9th, 2025
On September 11th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of intimate partner violence that had occurred a few days prior. An investigation was conducted and statements were taken from both parties and as a result, the 26-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Assault with a weapon, and the 34-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Assault. Both Accuseds’ were released on undertakings with conditions, including not to be in contact with one another.
October 10th, 2025
On October 10th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a break and enter that in the early evening at a business. Items taken which included laptops and other tech accessories totaled approx. $2500. The accused was identified shortly after by police and arrested. The 25-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Theft under $5000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions and the property was recovered and returned back to the business.

Gananoque Police Service Officially Joins the Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard - The Gananoque Police Service has onboarded onto the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard (PBCD), aimed at monitoring and sharing information about individuals on bail for firearms-related offences and/or crimes against the person offences. - The PBCD is a situational awareness and investigative tool, managed by the OPP, that provides cross- jurisdictional and inter-agency data to assist Ontario’s police officers with managing individuals on bail in the community. - The dashboard provides critical information about offenders released on bail for a broader range of high-risk offender. On September 23, 2024, during the evening hours, officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver was unable to produce a valid driver’s licence. The individual was subsequently identified and found to be driving while suspended. Further investigation revealed the 39-year-old driver was also bound by a release order on unrelated charges, which included a curfew condition. The driver was arrested and searched, and officers located a knife and cash on their person. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a collapsible steel baton, a knife, a scale, a pipe, and approximately 29.6 grams of methamphetamine. As a result, the 39-year-old resident of Elgin was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking — methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order, Breach of Recognizance, and Driving While Under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act. On April 2, 2026, the accused was convicted of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking — methamphetamine, and Breach of Recognizance. The Ontario Court of Justice granted 213 days of pre-sentence custody credit for time served and imposed a suspended sentence with 18 months of probation. The accused was also issued a lifetime weapons prohibition.
