June 13th, 2026
On June 4th and 5th, 2026, officers of the Gananoque Police Service received information of a water
company stealing water from hydrants around the Town of Gananoque. On June 13th, 2026, a pull of
water was detected by Public Utility employees, and officers on patrol located the suspect vehicle
and driver who was placed under arrest. As a result, a 44-year-old person from Kingston was
charged with Theft under $5000 x 2, and Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000. They
were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing and the water truck was seized as evidence.
June 16th, 2026
On June 16th, 2026, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a person exiting a vehicle
showing obvious signs of impairment. The vehicle was located and was observed driving erratically.
A traffic stop was conducted and a roadside Approved Screening Device test was conducted which
resulted in a fail. The 43-year-old person from Cavan was arrested and transported to the station for
further testing. As a result, they were charged with Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and released on an undertaking with
conditions. They were issued a mandatory 90-day license suspension and the vehicle was
impounded for 7 days.
June 20th, 2026
On June 20th, 2026, officers responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls of a vehicle losing control and
damaging property before fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, officers located a residence with extensive
damage to the yard. Officers located the vehicle which was being operated with three intact tires and
one tire completely deflated, causing the vehicle to travel directly on the rim.
The driver showed signs of impairment, and failed a roadside Approved Screening Device test. The
driver was placed under arrest and transported to the station for further testing.
As a result, the 37-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Operation while impaired -
alcohol and drugs, Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), Fail to comply
with probation order x 2, and Mischief under $ 5,000. They were released on an undertaking with
conditions. They were issued a mandatory 90-day license suspension and the vehicle was
impounded for 7 days
