November 3rd, 2023
On November 3rd, 2023 officers responded to a report of an elderly female, alone and confused. Upon arrival the female was known to police as having early onset dementia. The female was returned safely to her family member.

November 4th, 2023
On November 4th, 2023 officers observed a vehicle travelling with no rear lights. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking to the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test, the male was arrested for further testing. As a result, the 19-year-old male from Gananoque was charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration and Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. He was released on an appearance notice to be seen in court at a later date, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
November 4th, 2023
On November 4th, 2023 officers on patrol observed a 45-year-old male from Gananoque at a local financial institution. The male was known to be on probation with conditions not to be at that location. As a result, the male was arrested and held for a show cause bail hearing.
November 9th, 2023
On November 9th, 2023 a warrant was issued for failing to comply with probation for a 34-year-old male from Gananoque. On November 16th, 2023 the male was arrested and charged with three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation and released on an undertaking with conditions.
November 10th, 2023
On November 10th, 2023 officers on patrol observed a 45-year-old male from Gananoque at a local financial institution. The male was known to be on probation with conditions not to be at that location. As a result, the male was arrested and held for a show cause bail hearing.
November 13th, 2023
On November 13th, 2023 the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a sexual assault on a youth. An investigation was conducted and as a result a 22-year-old male from Lansdowne was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault, and Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age. The male was held for a show cause bail hearing.
November 20th, 2023
On November 20th, 2023 the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a sexual assault on a child. As a result of an investigation, a 47-year-old male from Kingston was arrested and charged with Sexual Interference and Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age. The male was released on an undertaking with conditions.
November 22nd, 2023
On November 2nd, 2023 the Gananoque Police Service received a report of distribution of intimate images of a minor. An investigation was conducted, and as a result, a youth was arrested on November 22nd, 2023 and charged with Distribute intimate image without consent, and Imports, distributes, sells or possess for the purpose of distribution or sale any child pornography. The youth was released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
November 27th, 2023
On October 20th, 2023 a bench warrant was issued for a 36-year-old male from Kingston for failing to attend court as required. On November 27th, 2023 the male was arrested by Kingston Police on the strength of the warrant and transported to the Gananoque Police Service. He was charged with Failure to attend court after having appeared. The male was held for a show cause bail hearing.

Gananoque Police Service Officially Joins the Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard - The Gananoque Police Service has onboarded onto the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard (PBCD), aimed at monitoring and sharing information about individuals on bail for firearms-related offences and/or crimes against the person offences. - The PBCD is a situational awareness and investigative tool, managed by the OPP, that provides cross- jurisdictional and inter-agency data to assist Ontario’s police officers with managing individuals on bail in the community. - The dashboard provides critical information about offenders released on bail for a broader range of high-risk offender. On September 23, 2024, during the evening hours, officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver was unable to produce a valid driver’s licence. The individual was subsequently identified and found to be driving while suspended. Further investigation revealed the 39-year-old driver was also bound by a release order on unrelated charges, which included a curfew condition. The driver was arrested and searched, and officers located a knife and cash on their person. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a collapsible steel baton, a knife, a scale, a pipe, and approximately 29.6 grams of methamphetamine. As a result, the 39-year-old resident of Elgin was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking — methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order, Breach of Recognizance, and Driving While Under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act. On April 2, 2026, the accused was convicted of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking — methamphetamine, and Breach of Recognizance. The Ontario Court of Justice granted 213 days of pre-sentence custody credit for time served and imposed a suspended sentence with 18 months of probation. The accused was also issued a lifetime weapons prohibition.
