On April 16th, 2025, officers with the Gananoque Police Service observed a vehicle being operated by an individual known to be prohibited from driving. The vehicle and driver were located shortly thereafter at a local gas station, where officers approached to initiate contact.
Upon being approached, the 33-year-old Frankville resident attempted to flee. A physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect resisted police control and upon entering their vehicle, deliberately rammed a police vehicle to evade arrest. In the interest of public safety, officers did not engage in pursuit as the suspect fled the scene.
Following an ongoing investigation and in collaboration with a neighbouring police service, the suspect was located on May 22, 2025, at an establishment. A police interaction occurred, the individual was taken into custody without further incident.
As a result, the individual has been charged with the following offences:
• Assault with a weapon x2
• Assault with intent to resist arrest
• Dangerous operation
• Fail to comply with probation order x2
• Failure to stop after accident
• Flight from peace officer, Mischief Over $5,000
• Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code x5
The accused was held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.

May 1st, 2025 On May 1st, 2025, officers on general patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically and disobeying road signs. A traffic stop was conducted and officers quickly observed the driver to be showing signs of impairment, and registered a fail during the roadside breath demand. The 45-year-old person from Roblin was arrested and transported to the station for further testing. As a result, they were charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mgs plus and Failure or refusal to comply with demand. They were released on an undertaking with conditions and a mandatory 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days. May 1st, 2025 On May 1st, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a vehicle that had travelled at a high rate of speed, taking a dangerous turn into a local business, almost striking the building and a pedestrian. The driver was stopped and detained by the RCMP until officers arrived, and a 24-year-old person from Montreal was arrested and charged with Dangerous operation. They were released on an undertaking with conditions. May 3rd, 2025 On May 3rd, 2025, an officer on general patrol observed a driver operating a vehicle without their seatbelt. The driver had difficulty maintaining their lane, erratically braking and accelerating. It was believed the driver was intoxicated. The officer attempted a traffic stop however the driver fled from police. An investigation was conducted and the driver was identified. On May 4th, the 19-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Dangerous operation and Flight from peace officer. They were released on an undertaking with conditions. May 7th, 2025 On May 7th, 2025, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for a report of intimate partner violence. Further investigation revealed the accused had thrown a bag of garbage at the victim, and damaged their property. Officers arrested the 47-year-old person from Gananoque and they were charged with Assault – spousal, Mischief – domestic, Fail to comply with probation order. They were held in custody awaiting a show cause hearing. May 8th, 2025 On May 8th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a person attending a residence that they were on conditions not to attend. They were also in the company of a person they were not to be in contact with. As a result, a 33-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with two counts of Fail to comply with probation order. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing. May 9th, 2025 On May 9th, 2025, officers responded to a 9-1-1 report of an assault that occurred outside a business in a vehicle. The suspect had left the scene, but was located shortly after. Further investigation resulted in the 27-year-old person from Gananoque being charged with Assault – spousal. They were released on an undertaking with conditions not to be in contact with the victim. May 13th, 2025 On May 13th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a known suspended driver operating a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and their suspension was confirmed. The 30-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Operation while prohibited under the criminal code and Fail to comply with probation order. They were released on an undertaking with conditions. May 15th, 2025 On May 15th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a traffic complaint of a vehicle stopping intermittently in the roadway and the driver throwing a vodka bottle from the window. The vehicle and driver were located and after failing the roadside breath demand, they were arrested and transported to the station for further testing. The 82-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mgs plus and Operation while impaired – alcohol/drugs. They were released on an undertaking with conditions and a mandatory 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days. May 16th, 2025 On May 16th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving at an excessive speed. It was determined that the driver had an outstanding warrant from a neighbouring service. They were placed under arrest on the strength of the warrant - they also exhibited signs of impairment. The 56-year-old from Johnstown was transported to the station for further testing. They were charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mgs plus and Operation while impaired – alcohol/drugs. They were released on an undertaking with conditions and a mandatory 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days. May 18th, 2025 On May 18th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a person attempting to stab the caller with scissors. Officers responded and as a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault with a weapon – spousal, and Failure to comply with undertaking. They were held in custody for a show case bail hearing. No one has the right to abuse another person. January 14th, 2025 On January 14th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle and driver and a roadside screening device was conducted. The 29-year-old person from Kingston provided a breath sample which resulted in a 3-day driving suspension. January 16th, 2025 On January 16th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle swerving into the opposite lane, driving at a low rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver showed signs of impairment. A roadside screening device was conducted resulting in a fail. The 31-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and after further tests, they were charged with Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). They were released on an undertaking with conditions, received a 90-day driving suspension and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days. January 20th, 2025 On November 29th, 2024, a warrant was issued for a 35-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend court. On January 20th, 2025, officers on patrol located and arrested the person. They were charged with Failure to attend court after having appeared and held for a show cause bail hearing. January 21st, 2025 On January 21st, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle driven by a person believed to be unlicensed. A traffic stop was conducted and it was determined the driver did not hold a valid license. They were also found to be breaching their probation by driving a vehicle without an interlock ignition device and not carrying a copy of their probation order. As a result, the 26-year-old person from Lansdowne was arrested and charged with two counts of Fail to comply with probation and given one Provincial Offence Notice for Drive motor vehicle - no license. They were released on an undertaking with conditions. January 21st, 2025 On January 21st, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and while speaking with the driver, open alcohol was observed in the vehicle and the driver showed signs of impairment. A roadside screening device was conducted resulting in a fail. The 61-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and after tests, they were charged with Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). They were released on an undertaking with conditions, received a 90-day driving suspension and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days. January 22nd, 2025 On January 22nd, 2025, officers located a 35-year-old person from Ottawa with several outstanding warrants. They were arrested and charged with three counts of Fail to comply with probation and Fail to comply with appearance notice. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing. January 23rd, 2025 On January 17th, 2025, a bench warrant was issued by the court for a 61-year-old person from Gananoque who had failed to attend court. On January 23rd, 2025, the accused attended the station where they were arrested and charged with Fail to attend court – as per undertaking. They were later released on an appearance notice. January 24th, 2025 On January 24th, 2025, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with obscured plates. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving, and after officers arrested the 42-year-old person from Brockville, a search revealed a set of brass knuckles on their person. As a result, they were arrested and charged with Operation while prohibited and Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose. They were released on an appearance notice, the vehicle was impounded for 45 days, and the license plates were seized as they were found to be fake. January 26th, 2025 On November 25th, 2024, a warrant was issued for a 32-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to comply with probation. On January 26th, 2025, a neighbouring police service located and arrested the person who was then transferred to Gananoque officers’ custody. They were charged with two counts of Fail to comply with probation, and released on an appearance notice.
January 3rd, 2025 On January 3rd, 2025, a warrant was issued for a 61-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend for fingerprints and failing to comply with their undertaking. That same day, the person was arrested, fingerprinted, and released on an undertaking with conditions. January 3rd, 2025 On January 3rd, 2025, a warrant was issued for a 43-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend for fingerprints as required by their undertaking. On January 14th, 2025, officers located and arrested the person, where they were fingerprinted that day, and released on an appearance notice. January 4th, 2025 On January 4th, 2025, officers conducting follow-up on an occurrence observed a 61-year-old person and a 52-year-old person breaching their release conditions by being in each other’s company. As a result, they were arrested and charged with Failure to comply with undertaking. They were released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date. January 8th, 2025 On January 8th, 2025, while conducting a compliance check, a 50-year-old person from Gananoque was found to be breaching their release conditions by being outside of their approved residence after curfew. They were arrested and charged with two counts of Failure to comply with release order. They were released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date. January 11th, 2025 On November 29th, 2024, officers responded to a report of a person intentionally kicking the owner’s e-bike, causing approximately $1500 worth of damage. An investigation was conducted and as a result, on January 11th, 2025, a 33-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date. January 11th, 2025 On January 11th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a 46-year-old person from Addison that had an outstanding DNA warrant. A traffic stop was conducted, and they were placed under arrest. A search revealed a quantity of methamphetamine and an open container of alcohol which resulted in a charge for Possession of schedule I substance – methamphetamine charge and a Provincial Offence Notice for Drive motor vehicle – open container of liquid. The DNA warrant was executed, and they were released on an undertaking with conditions. January 14th, 2025 On January 14th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an assault that took place on January 11th. The complainant reported that a family member grabbed them by the throat and held a knife to it. As a result, a 43-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault with a weapon, and Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
In the early morning hours of December 29th, 2024, at approximately 2:45 am, the Gananoque Police and Fire Departments received a call for service regarding a fire in the area of Center Street at Tanner Street. The investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set. Despite there being no physical injuries and relatively minor damage to the home, police continued to investigate. On December 30th, 2024, officers were able to identify and arrest a 28-year-old person from Gananoque. They were charged with Arson - Cause Damage to Property and Possession of Incendiary Material and were held for a show cause bail hearing. The Gananoque Police Service would like to thank members of the public who assisted police by providing home video surveillance footage. This assistance allowed for a timely outcome to the investigation. Police are confident that this was an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.

October 31st, 2024 On October 31st, 2024, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a statue that had been stolen from Horticultural Society Park. The statue was 4 feet tall, made of brass, and was a tribute to Gaye "Noel" Bullock. It was valued at approximately $10,000 dollars. And investigation was conducted, and it was determined that the statue had been cut into pieces and sold for scrap for a value of $126.00 dollars. As a result, on December 3rd, 2024, a 52-year-old person from Gananoque and a 61-year-old person from Gananoque were arrested and charged with: Theft over $5000, and Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
