When your out be aware of your surroundings. Never put yourself into a
situation where you comprimise your own safety. When possible travel in a
minimum of pairs and stay in well lighted area’s.
Criminals are opportunists and look for the most vulnerable people to attack.
Walk in a brisk manner with your head held high. This sends out the message
you are confident & mess with me and I will fight back.
If your afraid to go into a parking garage at work ask someone you work with
to walk with you to your car and then drive them to their car. If possible ask
security to walk you to your car at any parking garage.
When your walking down the street passing an alley, loading dock, parking lot
entrance take your corners wide so you can see what’s around the corner to
avoid being surprised. This technique is used by police and security when
patrolling.
Some people think carrying a weapon is the best form of protection, but it's
not and can end with disaster. What if the attacker gets hold of your weapon
and uses it against you?
